The Role

West Coventry Academy is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 7 Transition Lead to play a key role in supporting students as they move from primary to secondary school. You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality transition programme that strengthens literacy, numeracy, and nurture provision for our new Year 7 students, ensuring they are equipped for success from day one.


The successful candidate will support students with additional needs as they transition from Year 6 into Year 7. The role requires the postholder to support students both academically and pastorally. Experience of working in a primary setting would be an advantage.


The Transition lead will be responsible for:


Leading the planning and delivery of our Year 7 transition programme

Enhancing literacy and numeracy provision for identified students

Supporting the development of our nurture provision, promoting student wellbeing and inclusion

Working directly with students to remove barriers to learning

Liaising with primary schools, parents/carers, and external agencies

Supporting behaviour, attendance, and emotional development strategies
