The Role

SCITT Lead - Primary

16 hours per week, over 2 days. (Thursday and 1 other day)

As SCITT Lead, you will:

·   Work with the Primary Course Leader to design and deliver the 3-7 curriculum and phase-specific training sessions.

·   Track and monitor the development of Associate Teachers through subject knowledge auditing.

·   Ensure timetables and placements for Associate Teachers are tailored to achieve key learning outcomes.

·   Visit Associate Teachers during teaching experiences to observe lessons, assess progress, and quality assure placement provision.

·   Conduct professional reviews and recommend whether Teachers’ Standards have been met.

·   Actively promote and market the SCITT programme, attending recruitment events and supporting the interview process.

·   Collaborate with course leaders to assess PGCE assignments and implement intervention strategies for at-risk candidates.

·   Significant experience in primary education for ages 3-7.

·   Strong understanding of the ITT core content framework and its evidence base.
